CFG-GG. Zacheus MALTBIE, bp. Aug. 29, 1785, Norfolk, Ct. (Zach.4,
Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1. m. Feb. 12, 1815, at Lee, Mass., Sarah GIFFORD,
of Lee, Mass. He removed to Croton (?Groton), N.Y., and
later to Evans, N.Y., thence to Nashville, Chautauqua Co., N.Y., and
next to Eden, N.Y., and later to Evans, N.Y., where he died aged 76.
The Congregational Church, Lee, Mass., has the following:--
"June 14, 1815, a vote to grant Sarah Maltby, wife of Zacheus Maltby
a letter of recommendation to the church of Christ at Locke, N.Y."
She was a dau. of John and Joanna Gifford, and born at Lee,
Mass., Jan. 31, 1797. Mrs. F.M.Phelps writes: "They had five
children, two died young.
